The instruction itself is non-partisan — we teach mechanics, safety, and law. That said, we do examine the imagery and messaging of mainstream American gun culture: the screaming eagles, the Punisher skulls, the "Molon Labe" stickers, the whole macho death-cult aesthetic. We talk about what that messaging communicates and who it's designed to appeal to — and who it's designed to exclude. Some people find that analysis uncomfortable. If you're looking for a class that celebrates that aesthetic, this isn't it. If you want to understand firearms without adopting the identity that usually comes with them, you're in the right place.

Bring yourself, a willingness to learn, any food and drink you may need (classes won't always be near stores or restaurants), and supplies to take notes (you'll most likely want to take a lot of notes.) Wear comfortable clothes, and if any classes are in a chilly location we will let you know ahead of time. We'll provide all the instructional material.
