WHAT WE OFFER
Things people wonder but are afraid to ask.
No. This class is for anyone curious about firearms, whether you own one, are thinking about it, or just want to understand them better.
No. This is a literacy and education class. You'll learn what firearms are, how they work, how to handle them safely, and how to navigate the legal and cultural landscape around them. No live fire.
Yes. You'll work with unloaded firearms under supervision. Safety is the foundation of every exercise.
Absolutely not. We assume zero prior knowledge and start from the ground up. If you don't know a magazine from a clip, you're in exactly the right place.
The instruction itself is non-partisan — we teach mechanics, safety, and law. That said, we do examine the imagery and messaging of mainstream American gun culture: the screaming eagles, the Punisher skulls, the "Molon Labe" stickers, the whole macho death-cult aesthetic. We talk about what that messaging communicates and who it's designed to appeal to — and who it's designed to exclude. Some people find that analysis uncomfortable. If you're looking for a class that celebrates that aesthetic, this isn't it. If you want to understand firearms without adopting the identity that usually comes with them, you're in the right place.
Neither. It's pro-understanding.
Just yourself and a willingness to learn. Wear comfortable clothes. We'll provide everything else.
Six hours, including breaks. It's a substantial time investment because everyone gets real hands-on practice, not just watching a demo.
Locations vary by session. Check the class listing for specific venue details. We're based in Northern California but travel for group bookings.
The class is $95. If you can't afford the full price, sliding scale options are available — pay what you can. If you're paying full price and want to help offset someone else's ticket, you can add a $10 "offset ticket" at checkout. Think of it like leaving change in the tip jar for the next person.
Yes! We come to you. Contact us to discuss group rates and scheduling.
Absolutely. Learning with someone else often makes people more comfortable. Just make sure you both register.
That's completely normal and honestly expected. This class is designed for people who feel that way. We go at your pace, and you're never required to do anything that makes you genuinely uncomfortable.
The class is designed for adults. For questions about younger participants or family sessions, contact us directly.
